Art has been a large part of their life since childhood. Their mother is a graphic designer, their father went to art school, and one of the first jobs they remember ever wanting was to be a childrens book illustrator. As they got older, comics became one of their favorite forms of art and storytelling, which drove them to pursue a BFA in Comic Art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2021.
They work both digitally and traditionally. Their work is primarily defined by a black and white style, playing with high contrast to create more emotionally impactful and moody environments, as well as leaning into its simplicity at times.
In terms of storytelling, their work is highly character driven, occasionally stating its their characters running the show as opposed to them. They mostly focus on explorations of identity, especially in relation to race and queerness.
